No grievance mechanism for seats in Telangana colleges

There should be a helpline to solve the un-allotted candidates and their grievances immediately.

Hyderabad: There is no grievance redressal mechanism for the allotment of a seat in state degree colleges due to which parents and degree aspirants are facing problems, alleged minority degree college managements.

Dr P. Saroja, Principal of Madina Degree and PG college said, “There are helpline centres for degree admissions, but they are of no use. There is no grievance redressal mechanism for allotment of a seat. The parents are running from pillar to post for a seat for their ward, not knowing whom to approach, and where to go. Why is there no solution while these qualified candidates are left in the lurch.”

She adds, “The same thing happened last year too. There should be a helpline to solve the un-allotted candidates and their grievances immediately. Hope the concerned authority will work towards solving this issue.”

Mr Naveen Mittal, Commissioner of Collegiate Education, said, “There are several helpline centres, in fact there are nearly 80 plus helplines centres for DOST which are also grievance cells so if anyone has a problem they can approach the helpline centres. There is a comprehensive mechanism there so students and parents should just contact the helpline centres for any doubts or help.”
