Hyderabad High Court rejects plea over guest lecturers

Mr A. Sanjeev Kumar submitted that interviews for guest lecturers were already completed and 70 per cent of the current guest lecturers were selected.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging the proceedings issued by the Commissioner of Intermediate Education on July 25, 2018 for engaging the guest faculty in government junior colleges in Telangana for the Academic year 2018-19.

Justice P. Naveen Rao, while dismissing the petition by S.K. Yakub Pasha and 56 other junior guest lecturers working in government junior colleges, granted the petitioners liberty to make application to the Commissioner of Intermediate Education in case they were not considered for the post of guest lecturer for the Academic year 2018-19.

Mr A. Sanjeev Kumar, special counsel for the government, submitted that interviews for guest lecturers were already completed and 70 per cent of the current guest lecturers were selected for the Academic year 2018-19 and almost all the petitioners were also selected for the posts. The judge directed the Commissioner of Intermediate Education to pass appropriate orders if any one of the petitioners who have failed in the interviews made an appearance within three weeks from the date of their application.
