Hyderabad: 310 Dialysis patients protest at ESI Hospital
Hyderabad: Around 310 dialysis patients protested at ESI hospital in Sanathnagar on Friday after the authorities asked them to go to private hospitals from September 1, citing closure of the center.
The Dialysis Center operated by NephroPlus a private company under PPP Mode at ESI Hospital provides all the facilities making it convenient for the patients suffering with various health issues. Patients allege that if they face any complications during dialysis, the private hospitals would charge hefty amount.
A dialysis patient Mr Shashidhar Sangam said, “We have been coming to the ESI Hospitals everyday for our dialysis treatment and suddenly today without any prior information the hospital has told us they are liquidating the centre. The ESI Hospital authority has given list of 5 private hospitals for us to go treatment”.
Around 100 dialysis patients stood at the entrance of the hospital along with Ms Aila Mamta, founder of the Welfare association for Kidney patients to stage protest.
The patients were assured meeting with officials to take forward their issue on Saturday.
