Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday showered election sops on a few more sections.  The sops include allotment of land in city and funds for construction of caste-specific buildings on the name of “self respect buildings complexes” for various backward classes, free power supply to SCs and STs for domestic use up to 101 units, increase in salaries for Imams and Mouzams in Masjids from Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000 per month, salaries for archaks on par with government employees and increase in their retirement age from 58 years to 65 years and  salary increase for staff working in 29 mini gurukulams.

Mr Rao said the government would allocate funds for the construction of Aatma Gaurava Bhavans (self respect building complexes) in Hyderabad for all castes of Telangana. He said  lands have been identified in Kokapeta, Ghatkesar, Medpally, Medchal, Abdullapurmet, Injapur etc.   The CM said that, in view of the increased usage of electrical appliances, the power consumption has increased and hence the present 50 unit limit to SCs and STs has been  enhanced to 101 units.  The CM said the increased salaries for Imams and Mouzams in masjids will be paid with effect from September 1.

Mr Rao announced that the Archakas performing pooja activities in temples which come under the purview of the state endowment department would be paid salaries directly, on par with the government employees henceforth.  He said these will be paid from the state government treasury with effect from September 1, 2018.  As and when the pay revision is implemented to government employees the same will be made applicable to Archakas also said the CM.
