The car carrying the TV actors Jeevan and Rachana that hit a canter, killing them both, near Nelamangala on Wednesday KPN
Bengaluru: Two television artistes, including a lead female actor of serials, were killed and four other sustained injuries after their SUV rammed into a mini truck that was parked by roadside. The incident was reported near Solur Circle on Bengaluru-Mangaluru Highway in Ramanagar district early Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Rachana, 23, a resident of Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Jeevan Suresh, 25, a resident of Ashok Nagar. The other occupants of the SUV Karthik, Ranjith, Eric and Uttam Honnesh sustained injuries and were hospitalised.
All the four injured were also actors in various serials and reality shows. Rachana was playing lead role in Kannada TV serials in ‘Mahanadi’, ‘Triveni Sangama’, ‘Madhubala’ and others. She had also acted in Telugu serials, while Jeevan was participating in a reality show titled ‘Majaa Bharatha’.
According to the police, it was Karthik’s birthday on Thursday and a group of friends were going to Kukke Subrahmanya temple in Dakshina Kannada district to celebrate his birthday.
They had left Rajarajeshwari Nagar around midnight. They were passing near Solur on the Bengaluru—Mangaluru Highway around 2 am, when the accident occurred.
"Honnesh was behind the wheels while Rachana was sitting next to him. Near Solur Circle, a mini truck was parked by roadside and its driver had gone to attend nature call. Failing to notice the vehicle, Honnesh rammed the SUV into it. While Rachana sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot, Jeevan who was sitting behind her, died on the way to hospital. The other injured persons are availing treatment and are out of danger," the police said.
A case is registered in Kudur police station in this connection.
