Vangaveeti Radha v/s Devineni Rajasekhar in Telugu Desam

Naidu wants Radhakrishna to neutralise Kapus in state.

Vijayawada: Stalemate is going on over the joining of Vangaveeti Radhakrishna into the Telugu Desam, as he has made his stand clear that he can’t sail with Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru), from the same platform, as they are known political rivals. The TD president has postponed the issue for sometime and had been trying to find out alternatives to bridge the gap between Mr Rajasekhar and Mr Radha. In fact, the TD president wants to cut down the image of Mudragada Padmanabham among Kapu community by giving space to Mr Radha in the TD and also to focus him as the icon of Kapus, according to sources.

However, Mr Radha is reportedly firm on his stand and sought a solid assurance from the TD seniors that his political interests would be protected. However, Mr Rajase-khar, who is expected to join the TD in a short span, has reportedly raised objections over inviting Mr Radha into the TD, as he has similar opinion towards Mr Radha, according to TD cadres. While Mr Rajasekhar is trying to create a platform for his son Devineni Avinash in the TD, the TD supremo wants to utilise the services of Mr Radha in another form.

In case Mr Radha’s entry is conformed, the party chief wants to project Mr Radha as the icon of Kapu community, in the coming elections. “The Chief Minister has a different game plan. He wants to cut down the image of Mudragada Padmanabham among Kapus,” a Kapu TD MLA said, on condition of anonymity, and added that as part of it, Mr Radha has been approa-ched by the TD seniors.

“It is a win-win situation for both Mr Rajasekhar and Mr Radha,” he observed, and added that the Chief Minister wants to fire the bullets from the shoulders of Mr Radha, to minimise the image of Mudragada in the days to come. However, a clarity over the joining of these two leaders into the TD will come only before Ganesh Chaturdhi, a TD leader said.
