Tragedy Strikes: Two Girls Washed Away in Stream, Woman Jumps into Overflowing Waters

Hyderabad: Two girls identified as Swati, 18 and Anusha, 17, got washed away in a stream and died in Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday. The girls, both neighbours, were on their way to a field at the time of the incident.

According to police, the incident happened in Kondedu village. While crossing the stream, they drowned and washed away. Locals who saw them drowning, started a search and later their bodies were found trapped in the bushes around a kilometre away.

In view of the incident, police once again urged public particularly staying in the catchment areas of rivers, lakes and water bodies to not venture into waters.

Meanwhile at Kondurg in Rangareddy district under Cyberabad commissionerate, a woman identified as G Nirmala, 35 jumped in a overflowing stream in Agirala village. ACP Shadnagar said she was upset with her husband harassing her and took the extreme step. Locals tried to rescue her, but in vain. Search is on to trace her, he said.
