Kalpetta: Driver, abused couple, both missing
Kalpetta: Police is groping in the dark to locate the couple who were brutally beaten up and abused by Sajeevanadnan, an auto driver of Ambalavayal here in an instance of moral policing Sunday night.
Though the couple failed to submit any complaint, the visuals of the brutal beating went viral on social media, forcing the police to register a case against the accused on Tuesday. He also is missing since.
Though the police tried to trace the victims by tracking the mobile number, the attempt proved futile as it was switched off. The address they gave to the tourist home, where they stayed, also proved fake.

The mobile phone of Sajeevanandan also has been switched off since Tuesday morning, said police. A police team is after him.
The state women’s panel chairperson M.C. Josephine had expressed her angst over the lackadaisical attitude of the police.
The issue came to limelight after eyewitnesses uploaded its visuals which went viral sparking widespread outrage.
The footage had shown a Tamil speaking man getting thrashed by another man in front of the watching crowd.
When the woman tried to question him, the culprit also slapped her in the face showering abuses.
However, the couple refused to submit a complaint left the place. Even after the police registered a complaint, their mystery remains unsolved.
