Hyderabad: Osmania General Hospital audit report sought

The court also wanted the state government’s proposed plan for a new building, which was to be constructed after demolition of the unsafe buildings.

Hyderabad: Calling conditions in the Osmania General Hospital unhygienic and noting that some portion of the hospital building was dilapidated, the Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to submit a report on the structural strength of OGH building and the audit report on which the state came to the conclusion that some of the buildings in the hospital were unsafe.

The court also wanted the state government’s proposed plan for a new building, which was to be constructed after demolition of the unsafe buildings.

The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akther was dealing with the Public Interest Litigation by M/s Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association, Hyderabad represented by its president Dr. K. Mahesh Kumar, who had filed a PIL in February 2019 seeking a direction to the Telangana government to construct a new hospital building in place of the old one.
