Bid to gherao K Chandrasekhar Rao’s house foiled

The Panjagutta police detained 51 villagers and shifted them to Goshamahal stadium and before releasing them on personal bonds.

Hyderabad: The attempts of the residents of Ankapur village in Nizamabad district to gherao Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Begumpet, on Wednesday was foiled by the Panjagutta Police.

According to police, 51 villagers form Ankapur came to the city and tried to lay seize to the Pragathi Bhavan demanding that the Chief Minister fulfil the promises he made during the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The villagers’ main demand was to speed up construction of double bedroom house for the poor, as promises by Mr Rao.

It is reported that the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for the buildings in their village, but there was no progress in the construction works.

The Panjagutta police took 51 villagers into preventive custody and shifted them to Goshamahal stadium and before releasing them on personal bonds.
