Interventon of Kota cops saves 2 lives

The police rushed to the spot after receiving information that two persons were being thrashed by a mob that suspected them of being cow smuggler.

Jaipur: While Alwar police played a dubious role in Akbar lynching case in Alwar; timely intervention of the police in Kota saved two people. The incident took place near Hanging Bridge toll plaza last week, four days before Akbar was lynched by gang of so called cow protectors in Alwar.

The police rushed to the spot after receiving information that two persons were being thrashed by a mob that suspected them of being cow smuggler. One of the victims was 30-year-old Pravin Tiwari, a dairy owner from Madhya Pradesh. He was returning with truck driver Ahmed Ali to his home near Devas after purchasing cows from Chomu near Jaipur last Tuesday.

Tiwari said that the attackers who claimed they were members of Hindu outfits did not listen to him that he was a Hindu and bought these cows for his dairy business but the mob did not listen and started thrashing them. “There were 30 to 40 people at the toll bridge and everybody started beating us. They wanted us to confess that we were taking the animals for slaughter,” he said.
