CM HD Kumaraswamy provoking N-K people to demand separate state: BS Yeddyurappa

On the other hand, the Chief Minister has instigated people of north Karnataka to seek separate statehood through provocating speeches.

BENGALURU: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly B.S. Yeddyurappa charged on Tuesday that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s remarks against voters of north Karnataka mirrored the fact that the leader has lost his mental balance and that such statements would damage the federal system.

Lambasting Mr Kumaraswamy during an interaction with the media, the former chief minister said: “Mr Kumaraswamy has shown disrespect to people of north Karnataka for not supporting his party during the recent Assembly elections. These remarks of the Chief Minister clearly show that he has lost his mental balance and they also damage the federal structure.”

He remarked that according to the Chief Minister’s statement, voters have lost their rights to place any demand before him because they did not vote for JD(S). His statement would divide people based on region and caste. It has also raised doubt about whether the Chief Minister has belief in the federal system or not, he said adding “With the fear of losing the Chief Minister post, Mr. Kumaraswamy is making statements which hurt the sentiments of people of north Karnataka.

When farmers from Koppal district try to call his attention about their problem, Mr. Kumaraswamy scolded them and criticized them for not casting their votes in favour of his party. Thus they have no right to seek loan wavier scheme. It shows the height of arrogance of the Chief Minister.” On the other hand, the Chief Minister has instigated people of north Karnataka to seek separate statehood through provocating speeches. It is the duty of the Congress to clear its stand about misleading statements of the Chief Minister, he added.
