Suresh Prabhu: AP will be my priority

Mr Prabhu said the railways were speeding towards progress.

Anantapur: Union Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has assured priority to AP and assured that new projects would soon be taken up in association with the AP government. The railway minister accompanied by Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu took part in various programmes in Nellore district on Sunday.

Mr Suresh Prabhu laid the foundation stone for a foot-over-bridge at Nellore South Railway station. The Union railway minister also formally launched the work for the modernisation of Gudur Railway station works and also inaugurated the high-speed WiFi facility at Tirupati railway station with a remote control. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhu said the railways were speeding towards progress.

“The Centre would take up more projects pertaining to railways with collaboration of the state government,” he announced.

Mr Venkaiah Naidu reiterated that with Mr Prabhu being elected to the Rajya Sabha from AP would benefit the state and expedite development of railways in the state.

“All pending issues would soon be cleared," Mr Venkaiah Naidu hoped.
