Kollam: Missing woman found living with Facebook friend

The High Court sent her with her mother. However, she had earlier told the police that she wished to go with her lover in Kannur.

KOLLAM: A housewife who went missing from Ezhukone was found after six months living with her Facebook friend in Kannur.

Naseema, 36, of Chenkoor in Pooyappally had gone missing in January and her husband Nasarudeen filed a Habeas Corpus petition in the Kerala High Court. The Pooyappally police has been investigating the missing case since then.

Naseema, who was not in good terms with her husband for the last several months, met a youth hailing from Kakkad in Kannur district on Facebook. The relationship later developed into a love affair following which she went to live with him in Kakkad abandoning her husband.

Upon receiving a tip-off on her whereabouts last day, a police team from Pooyappally headed for Kakkad to arrest the woman on a petition by her husband. She was produced before the High Court on Monday based on the Habeas Corpus petition.

The High Court sent her with her mother. However, she had earlier told the police that she wished to go with her lover in Kannur.

"Naseema is a mother of two children. Her husband remarried a month after she had gone missing. She left two sons who are currently staying with their father," said R.Vinod Chandran, Pooyappally circle inspector. The woman's lover in Kannur also has a wife and children.

According to the police, Naseema, after leaving her home in Pooyappally, went to Mysore and other places along with her friend for a few days. The duo later secretly started living in a rented house in Kakkad when the police nabbed her.
