Hyderabad: The Cyberabad traffic police has warned autorickshaw drivers and vehicle owners against carrying fake and improper number plates after receiving multiple complaints over Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and other social media platforms from other road-users.
Most of the complaints that the traffic police received was regarding violation of rules. According to a Cyberabad traffic police official, autorickshaw drivers and vehicle owners were coming up various means to escape challans.
Some were using grease on the registration plates to hide the numbers, while others were using fake number plates to escape the challans.
Traffic police said it would criminally charge motorists found violating the rules governing number plates and seize the vehicles. A police officer said that number plates play a key role in finding lost vehicles. The driver should carry all the necessary documents while driving, the officer said.
