CBSE students still await results, TS Eamcet to be postpone
Hyderabad: CBSE Class 12 students and their parents say they are still waiting for their exam results, and want the TS Eamcet counselling to be postponed by two weeks to enable them to participate in Phase 1.
These students would lose their chances of obtaining seats in good branches and colleges if they were to wait for the second phase of counselling.
While the dates are not announced, CBSE results expected between May 28 and May 30.
A parent said, “A CBSE student has to enter marks in a form and the TS Eamcet convener will give them the rank. The counselling starts from May 25. We don’t understand the rush to start counselling before the results of all stakeholders are declared, and ranks of CBSE students are not known.”
Mr Appaji Rao, parent of a CBSE student, said, “Class 12 marks are given 25 per cent weightage in the Eamcet, the rest coming from the test. CBSE students have been given only Eamcent marks, but not the ranks. These things take at least a week to 10 days.”
Dr Srini Bhupalam, chairman, NRI Institute of Technology, hoped that the Eamcet counselling would be put off by two weeks.
“Otherwise it will adversely affect the CBSE students’ opportunity to obtain a seat in a good college and branch in the second phase. We request the techical education commissioner to look into the issue and do the justice to students.’’
