Relief for Telangana as heat wave set to stop

Hyderabad recorded 43.2 degree C on Wednesday, the highest so far this year.

Hyderabad: The heat wave conditions prevailing over Telangana for over a week will dissipate by Thursday as per an announcement by local weather bureau. On Wednesday, heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Nizamabad and Nalgonda districts. Both districts recorded the highest temperature of 45 degrees.

A fresh warning for Telangana has been issued. Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places on May 25. Also, thunderstorm accompanied by squall/gusty winds is likely at isolated places across the districts.

Met records do not indicate heat wave conditions would not prevail beyond May 25. Hyderabad recorded 43.2 degree C on Wednesday, the highest so far this year. The all-time record for highest temperature in the month of May was recorded at 44.5 degrees in 2010, followed by 44.3 degrees in 2015. The forecast for Thursday is: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of development of thunder lightning.

Meanwhile, there is some relief for costal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema that have been under severe heat wave conditions. The local weather bureau has announced that, thunderstorm accompanied with squall/gusty winds is very likely at isolated places in all the districts of CAP and Rayalseema up to May 28.
