Hyderabad: Senior traffic cop suspended for herding bouncers on trucker

Hyderabad: Transport Commissioner Mr Sunil Sharma on Wednesday suspended an Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector P.Swathi Goud for her misbehaviour with a truck driver and deputing bouncers during checking.

The incident happened on midnight of May 20 at L.B.Nagar and the issue came into light when the victim along with other drivers lodged complaint with L.B.Nagar police and police confirmed the attack based on the CCTV footage available with traffic control room. The video footage says that Ms. Swathi adopted bouncers and attacked a truck driver for not responding her demand.

Soon after flashing the video footage in media, the commissioner directed Joint Transport Commissioner J. Pandurang Naik for a report and the enquiry was taken up on Tuesday.

Based on the report submitted by the JTC, the Transport Commissioner issued suspension orders on Wednesday.

Based on the complaint lodged by lorry drivers, L.B. Police registered a case against Swathi under sections 328 and 504 of IPC.
