Hyderabad: TS Energy department has started the process of levying additional surcharge on open access consumers. Chairman and Managing Directors of TS DISCOMs G. Raghuma Reddy (SPDCL), A. Gopala Rao (NPDCL) and C. Srinivasa Rao, JMD of TS Transco, held discussions with open access consumers on Wednesday. About 42 consumers, including representatives of various industrial associations, participated in the discussion. DISCOMs contend that they are providing sufficient, reliable and quality power through long-term power procurement. They said states like Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh are levying additional surcharge on open access. Open access consumers have expressed their views on levying of additional surcharge. Mr Raghuma Reddy responded to the issues raised by the consumers.
Meanwhile, electricity employees’ association leaders held discussions with Transco officials at Vidyut Soudha on Wednesday regarding regularisation of contract workers. After the discussions the union leaders said that the Transco management has agreed to give orders on regularisation on state formation day for those who are working since 5th December 2016.
