N Chandrababu Naidu inspects Pushkar ghats
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to construct the Durga ghat permanently for utilising it for inland waterways project too.
Inspecting the Krishna Pushkaralu works at Durga ghat and model guest house here on Tuesday, he said that security should be tightened at the footsteps of Indrakeeladri.
The officials were also directed to set up four tourist points at Bhavani Island and Seethanagaram. The Chief Minister also asked the officials to provide a circle at the corporation office. The CM toured on bus and visited various areas, especially canals and directed the officials to develop greenery on vacant lands.
District collector A. Babu said that nearly a lakh devotees could take a holy bath at the Durga ghat. He said that all small ghats would be developed as one ghat within 1.2 kilometers.
AP irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, municipal minister P. Narayana, MLA Jaleel Khan, mayor Koneru Sridhar, CRDA commissioner N. Srikanth and municipal commissioner G. Veerapandyan were also present.
