Vijaywada: Youth arrested, gold recovered
VIJAYAWADA: The Guntur CCS police arrested one person and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 6.6 lakh stolen from a house.
According to the police, Nadendla Venkata Subbaiah was studying B. Tech third year but due to vices, he had stolen gold ornaments from their relative M. Rama Kumari's house, by opening it with a duplicate key on March 11 this year.
He stole the original key from the house owner and got a duplicate one made, a few days ago.
He found that there was nobody in the house on March 11 and entered it using the duplicate key. He stole 2 gold chains, weighing 220 grams, bangles, bracelet, earrings and silver ornaments from the almirah.
The police formed clues teams and found that the culprit used duplicate keys to enter into the house during the investigation.
They found Nadendla Venkata Subbaiah to be the culprit. The police arrested him while he was trying to sell the booty on Wednesday at Market Centre in Guntur.
