Tirupati: Astabandhana Samarpanam on April 25

The holy Astabandhana paste is an amalgamation of eight ingredients which have a scientific nature apart from adding sanctity in religious rituals.

Tirupati: The auspicious event of Astabandhana Samarpanam at Bhu Varahaswamy temple in Tirumala will be carried out on April 25 by applying Astabandhana paste to the temple walls.

The holy Astabandhana paste is an amalgamation of eight ingredients which have a scientific nature apart from adding sanctity in religious rituals. The ingredients to prepare the paste include, wood lac, resin, red orche, bees wax, buffalo butter, conch shell powder, gall nut and cotton. Each ingredient signifies invoking each deity. This paste acts as an adhesive and its power lasts for a period of 12 years.

Meanwhile, as many as twenty Ritwiks and ten Veda Patashala students led by chief priest of Srivari temple Venugopala Dikshitulu performed Yagashala rituals between 8 am and 12 noon and again from 8 pm to 10 pm on Wednesday.
