Rough sea alert in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has forecasted a low pressure over Equatorial Indian Ocean and the southwest Bay of Bengal around Thursday which could result in rough sea condition in Kerala. Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has predicted swell waves having 1.7 to 2.4-metre height along the Kerala Coast on Thursday.
In the wake of the warning, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has warned the fishermen at deep sea over these areas to return to respective coasts by Saturday. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from Saturday onwards, as the cyclone is expected to gain wind speed reaching 60-70 km per hour in the Kerala Coast on Saturday.
On April 28, Kerala Coast is likely to witness wind speed ranging from 80 to 90 Km per hour. IMD has also predicted fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and squally winds are also likely over Kerala from April 29 to May 1.
