Rajahmundry: Non-veg restaurants raided to check lapses

The authorities seized 11 domestic gas cylinders as they were being used for commercial purpose.

Rajahmundry: Vigilance and enforcement authorities carried out raids on non-vegetarian restaurants located at Kakinada, Amalapuram and Pitapuram in East Godavari on Wednesday.

The vigilance sleuths along with food safety authorities raided Vishnusri Restaurant at Amalapuram and found several lapses like poor maintenance of sanitation at the kitchen, usage of banned food colours, storage of meat at refrigerator and the restaurant was having no licence issued by the food safety authorities.

The authorities seized 11 domestic gas cylinders as they were being used for commercial purpose. They also inspected Ganapathi Food Court and noticed several lapses.

At Kakinada, the authorities inspected P.S.R. Foods and noticed stored food and 32 kgs of meat in refrigerator and they were destroyed by burying at dump yard and a notice was served on it.

At Pitapuram, the authorities inspected Ambica Restaurant noticed usage of domestic gas refills for commercial purpose, stored food in refrigerator and failure to renew the food licence to the restaurant.
