Bhopal: A Muslim youth here was trolled in social media and given threats on phone for supporting BJP’s nominee for Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, an accused in 2008 Malegaon blast in which six people were killed and 101 injured.

Syed Saddam Ali, member of minority wing of state BJP here, told reporters here that he was being trolled in social media and receiving threat calls from different parts of the country for hailing nomination of Pragya as party candidate for Bhopal.

“It is my duty as a party man to support its candidate. I have done nothing wrong by extending my support to her. But, I am being trolled in social media by some people for supporting her and even my cell number has been circulated in social media.

“As a result of which I have been receiving calls to withdraw my support to her or face consequence”, he said. Mr Ali was planning to seek police security following the development.
