Hyderabad: Private doctors forced to pay Rs 20 lakh bond

The post-graduate students state that the bond is being demanded against the rules.

Hyderabad: A bond of Rs 20 lakh is being insisted on by private medical colleges from senior residents for their internship despite the clause being omitted in the Telangana Medical Practitioners Registration (Amen-dment) Act 2018. The post-graduate students state that the bond is being demanded against the rules.

The Healthcare Refor-ms Doctors Association has approached the government demanding an official notification to the private medical colleges to not seek the bond.

The TS Private Medical Colleges Association states that the bond is as per the rules of the MCI where it is mandated that the senior resident must complete the internship in the hospital attached to the college.

The bond is taken as a security deposit. The doctors state that after the amendment of the rules by the state demanding the bond from the doctors is not right.
