Bengaluru: KSRTC to act against erring checking staff

We have received complaints that in many routes inspectors are in civil dress during duty hours.

Bengaluru: Following numerous complaints from passengers, KSRTC has decided to take action against ticket checking inspectors for violation of service rules. The most common complaint is that these inspectors board buses in civil dress leaving passengers confused.

“Many times we have seen that people randomly get into a bus and ask for tickets. When we ask about their credentials they reply that they are ticket checking inspectors. We often get into heated arguments with them because they were not wearing department uniform. Without uniform how can we recognise he is a KSRTC employee. KSRTC should look into this issue and take action against erring staff,” said Hemanth Kumar, a regular KSRTC commuter.

A KSRTC official said, “There is a rule that every ticket checking inspector should be in uniform while boarding buses to examine tickets. We have received complaints that in many routes inspectors are in civil dress during duty hours. We will definitely look into it and take action.”
