Hyderabad: Fire at rubber factory guts goods worth crores
Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out on the premises of a rubber factory in the early hours of Tuesday at Pathancheru. The intensity of the fire was such that it was difficult for the fire officers to enter the scene to control it. Suresh Reddy, District Fire Officer, Medchal, said, "About ten fire tenders have been deployed to the scene, the fire broke out at around 2.40 am and though its evening now we are still in the process of controlling the fire. We suspect that the fire must have been caused due to an electrical short circuit. The management has reported a loss of Rs 40 to 50 crore.”
Due to the fire, the surrounding areas were also heated up and this caused uneasiness among the people living within there. Mr Reddy said, “We are dumping the burnt rubber elsewhere so that it does not create problems for the people any more.”
