Gadchiroli: Cops on alert to tackle retaliatory attacks
Hyderabad: The Telangana police have stepped up vigil in the bordering districts of the state following the encounters in neighbouring Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.
A total of 37 Maoists have been killed in two encounters in Gachchiroli over the last three days. Checkpoints have been set up in Jayashankar Bhupapally, Adilabad, Mancherial, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Kothagudem Bhadadri and Khammam districts to prevent Maoist groups crossing into the state. “Our forces are on alert across the district to thwart any attempts by Maoist groups to sneak into the state. The vigil will continue for a few days,” KB Asifabad SP Kalmeshwar Singanawar said.
Jayashankar Bhupalpally police are on alert suspecting retaliatory attacks by Maoistgroups in the bordering areas.
