Bengaluru: Woman, son jump in front of train, both dead
Bengaluru: A 38-year-old woman ended her life along with her 10-month-old son by coming under a train in Kengeri on Monday night. The deceased have been identified as Manjula and Gagan, residents of ITI Layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Manjula, a native of Narasipura taluk in Mysuru district, was married to an electrician Divakar over 13 years ago and the couple had a 12-year-old daughter and a son. The couple shifted to Bengaluru a few years ago and rented a house in ITI Layout in RR Nagar.
One Monday evening while Divakar was away, she left house along with her son leaving her daughter at home and ended her life by coming under a train between Jnanabharathi and Kengeri. The passerby who spotted the dead bodies on Tuesday morning alerted the police.
The railway police along with the Kengeri police who arrived on the spot recovered a death note from Manjula which stated that no one should be held responsible for their deaths. She requested the Govindarajanagar MLA Priya Krishna to adopt her 12-year-old daughter, who is with Divakar.
The police shifted the bodies to Victoria hospital for post-mortem and have registered a case.
