ED raids offices of Vihaan Direct Selling Pvt Limited after fire tragedy

Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided three offices of Vihaan Direct Selling Pvt Limited, including the fire-hit unit at Swapnalok Complex, on Saturday.

Six persons including four women had died at the office of Vihaan on the fifth floor of Swapnalok Complex when a fire broke out on March 16.

The raids also took place at the Vihaan offices at Madhapur and Serilingampally, sources in the ED said.

Other teams of ED conducted raids on Vihaan offices in Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata and elsewhere and booked 38 cases of money laundering against the multi-level marketing company.

The Vihaan Direct Selling Pvt Ltd is a Malaysia-based company and ED is probing the persons running the show from behind the scenes, sources disclosed.

In 2020 the ED had issued notices to 500 celebrities for anchoring and promoting QNet advertisements, sources disclosed.

Vihaan is a sister company of QNet and has been running in seven states for two years. All the companies are involved in money laundering, there will be more raids in on other states, the sources said.
