Nikhil Kumaraswamy visits Aadichunchangiri matha with dad, grandpa

No one can affect the relationship of people of Mandya with the family of Deve Gowda, HD Kumaraswamy said.

Mysuru: With Mr Nikhil Kumaraswamy set to file his nomination for the Mandya seat on Monday, he visited Aadichunchangiri matha in Mandya district along with former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda and Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and offered prayers to Kaalabyraveswaraswamy on Sunday.

Mr Kumaraswamy said, "No one can affect the relationship of people of Mandya with the family of Deve Gowda. I will not speak about who is supporting whom. Why should we be afraid if two actors participate in a convention(of Independent candidate Sumalatha)? There is no question of fear when party workers are our backbone," he said.

Speaking to media persons, he said, "Many people might have united to defeat one Nikhil, but we have the people of Mandya with us. Where will those who buy votes get money? They are doing it with money earned by wrong means. And people of Mandya cannot be bought with that money," the Chief Minister said.

He added, " If some one indulges in drama like they do in movies, it will not last for long. We have been involved in politics in this land for long. Can someone pelt stones (at the house of actor Darshan in Bengaluru) at 3 am? When I asked the police officers near his (Darshan's) house, to seize the CCTV footage, they said the CCTV camera was switched off. Who will switch it off? Can we believe it?”
