Mangaluru: It was an interesting scene when Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the Dakshina Kannada constituency and sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel sought the blessings of Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary on Sunday afternoon.
Nalin had been to Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple in the city on Sunday afternoon and offered prayers there along with local Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and MLA Vedavyas Kamath.
As Poojary too was on the temple premises, Nalin decided to meet him.
Nalin who entered the room, bowed and touched Poojary's feet and sought his blessings.
The sitting MP stood with folded hands in front of Poojary whom he had defeated twice in the last two Parliament elections.
Poojary, who was moved by this gesture blessed Nalin.
Poojary told reporters that the mood in the country was in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“For two more terms Modi will be Prime Minister,” he said.
Mr Poojary also said that Nalin would win the election in Dakshina Kannada constituency.
