Dr N. Vasundhara announced that each TB patient in the city will be provided Rs 500 as financial support every month from April.
The controlling of MDRT is a challenge as its treatment plan requires a heavy dose of drugs and medicines for 24 months.
Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, district TB control officer Dr N. Vasundhara announced that each TB patient in the city will be provided Rs 500 as financial support every month from April. Currently, they are providing Rs 5,000 per patient to ASHA workers for their services. From next month onwards, doctors who treat the TB patients would also receive Rs 1,000 a month for social support. DM&HO R. Ramesh said around 64 recognised microscopic centres are there in the district that would test the patients free of cost.
