Ibrahimpatnam MLA Kishanreddy mocked caste quotas, says Kondru Pushpaleela

Hyderabad: Former minister Kondru Pushpaleela alleged that Ibrahimpatnam MLA Manchireddy Kishanreddy made derogatory comments against caste based reservations. She submitted a petition to Ibrahimpatnam ACP seeking action against the MLA.

Ms Pushpaleela alleged that while speaking at a meeting in Kongarkal village on Wednesday, the MLA said that due to reservations the constituency had not seen any development. She said that by making such comments the MLA had hurt her community. She submitted a petition to Ibrahimpatnam ACP requesting him to book a case under the Prevention of Atrocities against SC/ST Act.

Meanwhile, the MLA denied the allegations saying that he did not mean any particular community. “My speech was misunderstood by some people and in that case as a responsible citizen I am withdrawing my words,” Mr Kishan Reddy said.

Ibrahimpatnam ACP S. Malla Reddy said they have received a petition from Pushpaleela. “We are studying the petition and based on legal opinion we will take action,” the ACP said.
