CHENNAI: Even though Good Friday is a public holiday, BSNL has decided to keep its customer service centre employees on their toes on Friday and Easter Sunday as well.
Officials of BSNL said all offices will be closed as usual. They were only keeping the customer service lines open so that customers can avail themselves of their offers for the festive season.
BSNL is offering up to 24 per cent extra talktime on any top ups done during the festive season of Holi and Easter up till March 31.
Speaking to DC, a representative said all their offices comprising their administration and offices will remain closed for public holidays, but only their customer service lines would be open, “ We usually have an off, but this year since we have these new offers, we don’t want our customers to feel deprived on those days as the offers will get exhausted by 31st,” she said.
BSNL staff and franchises across the city will also be organising melas on Good Friday and Easter Sunday so that customers can avail themselves of all offers being initiated by BSNL.
When a priest at a church in the city was contacted, he said there were a few companies that worked on those days and he would have no say but he feels for those Christians who would wish to be with their families on those important days or to go to church for their prayers....
