Hyderabad: About 400 farmers from the state were symbolically handed over cheques of Rs 2,000 each by BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya in the city on Sunday to formally mark the beginning of the PM-Kisan scheme in the state. He said the Centre would deposit a total of Rs 1,500 crore in the accounts of 25 lakh farmers directly in three instalments every year. “For small farmers who are facing financial problems, this amount will come in handy. The Narendra Modi government has done in 50 months what the Congress could not achieve in 50 years.”
In Telangana state, this amount would come as an additional benefit for small farmers who are already receiving Rs 10,000 per year from the state government in two instalments.
