Hyderabad: Error in hallticket dashes hopes of man
HYDERABAD: The morning session of TRT i.e. the examination for the recruitment of the post of School Assistant (Telugu) progressed smoothly in most centres. However, a 26-year-old physically disabled candidate named Jatavath Shankar was not allowed to write the exam during the afternoon session for the post of a secondary grade teacher (English medium), despite his repeated pleas, because of an error in his hall ticket.
The hall ticket that the candidate had and the one which was present at the centre had different centres and therefore he was asked to leave the centre in Alwal before the commencement of the exam. Shankar said, “I stay at Achampeta in Mahabubnagar district and had entered the same for my exam centre allocation. I reached the exam centre in Alwal half an hour before the stipulated time. Twenty minutes before the exam was to start, the invigilator cross-checked my hall ticket and told me that my centre number was not matching. I was shocked because I had downloaded it from the official website.
They gave me another hall ticket and told me that my exam was at Mallapur. I had come all the way from Achampeta to Hyderabad and I had no money to make another journey and no support as well. I pleaded the officials but it made no difference.” Mr Shankar stated that he would be lodging an official complaint against TSPSC and would await justice. “The public service commission exams are not an everyday affair. I prepared very hard for the exams and I have lost my opportunity,” said Shankar. His exam was scheduled from 2.30 to 5 pm.
The TSPSC TRT exams were conducted in 52 centres and around 95 per cent attendance was recorded in the rural areas. Over 34 centres were within the HMDA limits while other districts such as Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam and others had four centres each. Out of the total number of registered candidates i.e. 17,970, over 17,333 downloaded their hall tickets.
