Hyderabad: Haj House to get new coat of paint

The building has two blocks including seven floors in the front side and 11 floors in the back.

Hyderabad: An 11-storied Haj House building in the capital city is set to get repainted after almost 15 years. Newly elected chairman of Telangana State Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem formally signed the file to allocate Rs 71 lakh for painting the building soon after assuming the charge on Friday.

Officials from the Board said that they asked the Roads and Building department to undertake the work and an estimate of Rs 71 lakh has been prepared that include necessary repairs and facelift of the building.

Erstwhile AP government constructed the Haj House in 2001 to facilitate the Haj pilgrims and to fulfill the travelling formalities including training for rituals to be performed during the pilgrimage. The building houses the offices of the Wakf Board, Urdu Academy, State Haj Committee and Minorities Finance Corporation.

The building has two blocks including seven floors in the front side and 11 floors in the back. The office of Wakf Board, Urdu Academy and State Haj Committee were shifted into the building soon after it was ready.
