Telangana Telugu Desam in a spot over defections

Mr Naidu has been defending the entry of YSRC legislators into his party.

Hyderabad: The defections of MLAs into the Telugu Desam from the YSR Congress have given TRS leaders, especially TS commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav and MLA E. Dayakar Rao, a weapon to attack AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his team. “Naidu has no moral right to question us. He preached a lot during GHMC polls and he doesn’t practise it,” Mr Yadav said. While YSRC MLAs are joining the TD, Mr Dayakar Rao and his colleagues in the TD, Prakash Goud, Vivekananda Goud and Rajender Reddy will formally join the TRS on Thursday.

Taking a cue from TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao who had been insisting that those joining the TRS are attracted by its developmental activities, Mr Naidu has been similarly defending the entry of YSRC legislators into his party. Mr Naidu had raked up the issue of defections from the TD during the GHMC polls and accused the TRS of luring his MLAs with various sops. TS TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy had been going hammer and tongs against the TS CM, but the defections has now come a full circle. “We have been put on the defensive in TS after the defection of YSRC MLAs into our party,” he said.
