Police on alert after caller targets K Chandrasekhar Rao
KARIMNAGAR: Security was stepped for TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Metpalli on Wednesday following a hoax call made by an unidentified person. Police heaved a sigh of relief as the visit passed off without incident. On Tuesday, an unidentified person telephoned Koratla MLA K. Vidyasagar Rao through the Internet and threatened that he would kill Mr Chandrasekhar Rao during his visit to the wedding of Peddapalli MP Balka Suman’s sister. Obviously, the call created a flutter in the town, keeping the police on tenterhooks.
Mr Vidyasagar Rao received the call while he was inspecting the arrangements made for inauguration of a veterinary hospital at Koratla mandal centre on Tuesday around 2 pm. “An unidentified person called up K. Vidysagar Rao via the Internet and threatened to eliminate the CM. The phone number was of nine digits, so we couldn’t trace it. However, we sent the number to the intelligence bureau to trace the origin of the call. Security was beefed up following the call,” said a senior official.
