Bengaluru city police want special courts to try CCB cases
Bengaluru: To ensure speedy disposal of long-pending cases before courts, the Bengaluru city police have asked the government to constitute special courts attached to the Central Crime Branch (CCB).
The city police have written to DG & IGP Om Prakash and Home Minister G. Parameshwar asking them to allocate the special courts. At present, the CCB is investigating underworld don Bananje Raja’s case, the cases involving Chhota Shakeel’s aide who was arrested recently, Comed-K scam, RGUHS examination scam, cases related to international drugs mafia and others.
DCP (Crime) CCB, K N Jithendranath told Deccan Chronicle, “We have requested the state government to allocate special courts as there are many cases pending before courts for trial. Also, the CCB is investigating major cases. If the special courts are set up, it will definitely help the crime branch dispose of cases quickly and will ensure timely justice to the people,” he said.
