Withdraw MLA JN Ganesh suspension order: Supporters
Bengaluru: Supporters of MLA J.N. Ganesh from Kampli, who has been accused of attacking Hosapete MLA, Anand Singh at the Eagleton Golf Resort recently, have pleaded with the party not to take any action against him.
A delegation from Kampli submitted a memorandum to KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao on Thursday urging him to withdraw the order suspending the MLA.
Mr Jagadish, a close associate of Mr Ganesh, said it would be difficult for partymen to work for the elections following his suspension. “Both Mr Singh and Mr Ganesh have a 20-year-old friendship and we don’t know why they fought. Mr Ganesh is ready to apologise and we also apologise to Mr Singh. Let bygones be bygones,” he said.
Mr Gundurao, however, said the matter was now in the hands of the police and he would not influence the investigation.
He pointed out that the party had constituted a committee to look into the matter and a decision could be taken only after it submitted its report.
Supporters of Mr Ganesh also met CLP leader Siddaramaiah to plead his case. The former CM, who was instrumental in both men joining the Congress, had reportedly tried to resolve the brawl amicably and stop it from becoming a police case. But Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar objected and insisted that a case be filed against Mr Ganesh. His word prevailed and the case was filed, according to sources.
