Nellore: The district medical and health department of Nellore on Thursday organised a rally under the title name of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ (BBBP) programme in the city in connection with National Girl Child Day.
The rally has accumulated significance, as the Nellore district has bagged the first place in the state implementing the said scheme.
Project director of ICDS P. Sarojini and district child protection officer Suresh Babu has received awards in a programme held at New Delhi on Thursday. It was observed that, out of 240 districts, 25 have been identified as the best districts in implementing the scheme, in which Nellore is among one, the officials claimed.
