Four MLCs to lose seats in months
Kakinada: Four MLC seats are to become vacant by March 2018 in East Godavari. Seven MLC seats occupied by Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Adireddy Apparao, A. Lakshmi Siva Kumar, K.V. Varma, Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, Reddy Subrahmanyam and Somu Veerraru (BJP). Of these, the term of finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Adireddy Apparao, Anguluri Lakshmi Siva Kumari and K.V. Varma w337ould ends by March. Mr Ramakrish-nudu can be elected as MLC on behalf of TD.
Adireddy Apparao was elected as MLCs as a YSRC candidate in 2013. Later, he shifted his loyalty to TD5. Mr Apparao says that when he joined TD, its high command had given him assurance that if TD continues alliance with BJP, he will be given MLC again, otherwise, he can get MLA ticket. He expects that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to give him or his family ticket for MLA seat. Anguluri Lakshmi Siva Kumari was elected as MLC during Congress regime. She is now with the TD. Mr Varma was elected as graduate constituency from East and West Godavari constituency. His father K.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju wants to contest for the seat on behalf of TD.
According to sources, the TD may not give MLC seats from East Godavari except Mr Ramakrishnudu as the TD has given two MLCs to Chikkala Ramachan-dra Rao (Kapu community) and Reddy Subrahmanyam (BC community). It is said that the TD senior leader Ganni Krishna is also expecting MLA or MLC. But, party sources said that the party has given him a post of chairman for Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA). Though two YSRC MLAs-Jyothula Venkata Appa Rao (Nehru) and Varupula Subba Rao (Prathi-padu) joined in TD, they are expecting MLA tickets.
It is said that Mr Nehru wants the MLA ticket for his son Jyothula Naveen Kumar, the Zilla Parishad Chairman.
According to a BC leader of TD of Rajahmundry, the YSRC has declared six posts to BCs already, but, the TD did not do it.
