Martyr's wife to get job
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet on Wednesday decided to give a job to the wife of Lance Naik Sam Abraham, the Army jawan who was killed in Jammu and Kashmir last week. Financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh will be also given to his family. It also decided to offer a job in government to former Chengannur MLA K.K. Ramachandran Nair’s son R. Prasanth on compassionate grounds. He is a B.Tech holder and would be given suitable posting. The Cabinet also decided to settle the loans taken by the deceased MLA from government approved institutions.
KSEB's finance director N.S. Pillai will replace K. Elangovan as the KSEB chairman and managing Director. Mr Elangovan will take over a principal secretary of the industries department. He will also hold the additional charge of NORKA principal secretary. Lottery director S Shanavas will hold the additional charge of NORKA CEO.
Jalanidhi executive director A R Ajayakumar has been appointed as Planning Board member secretary. Sanjeev Kaushik, who has returned from central deputation, has been appinted as the CMD of Kerala Financial Corporation. He will also hold the additional charge of KIIFB deputy MD. Expenditure secretary Sharmila Mary Joseph has been given the additional charge of the Planning and Economic Affairs Department.
Bishwanath Sinha, who had held the post of NORKA secretary, will now hold the additional charge of the Energy Department. Mr Sinha is also General Administration principal secretary. ASAP CEO Dr Sajth Babu will hold the additional charge of cooperative registrar.
The Local Self Government Department will be restructured as a public service mechanism by integrating the panchayat, rural development, urban planning and engineering wings under it. LSG department principal secretary A Ajith Kumar has been appointed the principal director of the new Unified Local Self Government Department.
The tenure of two commissions - the Justice Ramachandran Commission constituted to probe the CAG charges against the Vizhinjam project, and the Justice Gopinathan Commission formed to probe the Puttingal tragedy – has been extended by six months.
New revenue division offices would be set up at Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram, Iringalakuda in Thrissur, Vadakara in Kozhikode, Taliparambu in Kannuar and at Kasargod.
The Cabinet also decided to create 313 posts in Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation as part of implementation of Food Security Act.
