K T Rama Rao, Novartis in talks for expansion
Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao met business heads at the Telangana state pavilion in Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum.
He held interactions with leaders of Air Asia, Indo Rama, Mitsubishi, KKR, Kalyani Group, Dalmiyas, Novartis, Deloitte among others.
Mr Rao spoke about the Pharma City and the animal testing facility, and discussed the expansion plans of Novartis with Dr Petra Laux, global head of public affairs policy of the company.
Dr Laux said Novartis would be expanding its current footprint of about 90,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space to 1.60 lakh sq ft to establish its high-potent formulation development labs along with analytical development facility.
Mr Rao discussed with AirAsia CEO Anthony Fernandes the prospects of setting up AirAsia’s tech centre in the state.
Mr Rao invited a delegation from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to visit the state and look into opportunities for foreign investors.
He asked the heavy industries major to set up a small and medium enterprises park.
