Teen held for threatening 20 women
Hyderabad: A 19-year-old multi-media student, who allegedly threatened more than 20 women including minors that he would post their private pictures on social media, was arrested by the Hyderabad cyber crime police on Thursday.
The accused, Palakurthi Ajay, resident of Dilsukhnagar and native of Parkal, Warangal district, allegedly created fake Instagram accounts on different names and sent friend requests to his targets. Over a period of time, he would steer the conversation towards sex and secure nude pictures of his targets.
Joint commissioner of police, CCS, Avinash Mohanty said that they received a complaint from a minor girl stating that she was being harassed and blackmailed by Ajay. The girl said she was getting threatening messages from various Instagram IDs including one called ‘rafipasha’. The victim paid an amount of Rs 3,000. When she was asked for Rs 6,000, she approached the police.
