Hyderabad: Motorists fall for fake message, cops clarify

Hyderabad: Around 200 motorists reached Goshamahal police ground on Sunday, believing a recently circulated fake message about a purported Lok Adalat where 50 per cent discount would be given on traffic challans.

Traffic police installed a hoarding at Goshamahal ground to notify motorists that this was a fake message.

Many people who came to the ground on Sunday started arguing with the policemen who were deployed to inform people that it was fake news.

Speaking to this newspaper, traffic inspector, Goshamahal, Mr K. Venkateswara Rao, said, “Many people called me and enquired about the Lok Adalat. I clearly told everyone that this was a fake message. The police has informed this on social media and also installed a hoarding at the main gate of Goshamahal ground on Sunday.”
