Rose festival in Vijayawada a hit with the locals
VIJAYAWADA: Rose can give a pleasant smell when it blossoms. As many as 600 such varities of roses will be on display in the city for three consecutive days from Saturday. The 36th National Rose festival started at PWD grounds and was inaugurated by minister of agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy along with Bonda Umamaheswararo, MLA, Suresh Pingali President, Indian Rose Federation, Ahmed Alam Khan, vice-president Indian Rose federation.
National Rose fest blossomed for the first time in Andhra Pradesh and is being organised by the Rose Society of Andhra Pradesh (RSAP) and Haritha Priya plant lovers society are collaborating with the Vijayawada municipal corporation. The rose festival is becoming one of the prime events in Amaravati. As many as 112 stalls in the exhibition displayed roses from many interior places of India. Pune, Bengaluru and seven other states have contributed in this Expo. There are many other festivals that are held in Vijayawada like fruits, bonsai plants, organic products and foods also welcome the citizens. Amaravathi Urban Development Corporation’s stall is a hit at the expo.
